Preserving the planet for future generations is important to Spirax Sarco, Inc. Whether you live in a big city, a coastal town, a village or on a small island, climate change threatens your health, well-being, and future generations. Global warming, induced by climate change, dramatically disrupts some of life's essential requirements for health including water, air and food. Because of this Spirax Sarco is committed to making changes in our day-to-day operations. The way we manage resources in our own operations is one of the most direct ways through which we can lessen our impact on the environment. By ensuring that we are operating efficiently we can preserve resources, reduce our carbon footprint, and minimize pollution in the natural world. Our focus on water efficiency, waste reduction and elimination of solvent-based paints ensures that we are controlling how we use resources and dispose of waste responsibly to protect the environments where we live and work.
Sustainability is the ability to exist and develop without depleting natural resources for the future. The best way to achieve it is by sending zero waste to landfills and instead recycling the waste. Sending zero waste to landfill saves energy and reduces pollution which protects the health of communities. Recycling the waste is a sustainable solution, diverting waste from landfills where it would otherwise produce greenhouse gases further putting the environment in jeopardy. Recovering waste and materials for recycling, reusing, and repurposing helps sustainable development because it reduces the need to use natural resources and raw materials, which preserves our planet and its resources for future generations.
Spirax Sarco is committed to preserving the planet for communities and future generations and because of this we’ve set goals in making environmental improvements in our daily operations. By the year 2025 we will increase recycling and reduce waste by sending zero waste to landfill and achieving 10% reduction in waste generation by utilizing waste to energy processes. We have partnered with a local recycling company who has the technology to receive our most significant waste items including scrap metal, wood, cardboard, mixed recyclables, and general trash. Every Spirax Sarco, Inc. employee has a part in implementing environmental improvements in our operations by 2025. Each employee must ask themselves if there are options to reuse, reduce, or eliminate items, reusing shipping materials including wooden pallets and cardboard when it is feasible, and use designated containers for waste separation to ensure that the recycling process is efficient and effective.
Working together and achieving these goals will help us succeed in environmental sustainability.
