Business Development Manager/Engineer is the key role in the company to translate Customer First2 Strategy into clear 3 Year growth plans and manage its execution by ensuring real term growth above IP in targeted sectors. Working directly with the General/Country Manager to lead and manage the Sales teams to maximise sales and profit growth through effective customer targeting and the use of our Customer Value Propositions (CVP) to unlock sales potential. The role is crucial to drive self-generated Growth (Commercial Vitality) & ensure we launch innovations to market (Product Vitality). Apply the Sales Excellence Framework to identify and agree the sales excellence priorities and how they will be executed, measured, and controlled. Working closely with Sales and Service team to execute growth plan and engage sales to achieve breakthrough, while engaging relevant resources from region, Division & SBD to help Company execute the plan.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The main duties include but are not limited to:
• Implement the 3-year growth plan while increasing commercial vitality and product vitality.
• Implement the choice Growth Programs to drive self-generated growth
• Develop local SI1, SI3 and SI4 implementation journeys & action plans
• To work closely with the Sales and Service team, developing and converting strategy into action.
• Maintain focus on monthly BD tracking chart, regular meetings, training on Growth programs.
• Be accountable for the preparation of plans, forecasts and reports that reflect of responsibility utilising appropriate analytical approaches and Business Information tools.
• Developing a highly professional sales organization to implement a culture of Sales Excellence across the organization, to drive sales effectiveness, efficiency, and self-generated sales growth
• Drive growth with Sales team in Strategy Account and Project Management
• Work closely with Regional’s Digital hub team to provide connected service solution to customer
• Efficiently and effectively launch the right products to market.
Basic Function
You have basic duties and responsibilities but are not limited to:
• Fully understands and implementation Customer First2 Strategy with action plan
• Deploy Customer Value Propositions (CVP) to focus resources on identifying opportunities for and delivering value to the customer
• To ensure the regular input of market and competitor information to the Marketing and Business Development information database
• In conjunction with the Country Manager to agree the annual orders received targets by individual sales engineer and to produce a detailed business plan
• Work with sales team to make sure meet weekly and rolling 3 monthly order and sales forecast
• Ensure the Sales organisation is aligned and structured to enable our Strategic objectives
• Challenging the status quo in terms of go-to-market model, sales organisational and territory design to maximise efficiency and effectiveness
• Ensure rewards and recognition schemes are in line with local market norms and Group best practice to drive the performance of individuals and their teams
• To ensure a culture of coaching is in place with the Sales Managers and Team Leaders
• To develop our selling skills through the adoption of Consultative Selling practices
• To be actively involved in the recruitment, onboarding and talent management of the sales team
• To assess training needs in line with the growth objectives
• Ensure a robust and standardized orders and sales forecasting process is in place
• Drive consistent use of common tools and methodologies including CRM
• Ensure price increases are planned and implemented in an effective manner to offset cost increases and maximise margins
• Manage the strategic pricing journey and develop plans to ensure annual goals are achieved
• Provide the development 3-year BD & Sales Excellence Plan.
• Work with sales team with the prioritisation of Sales Excellence building blocks necessary to deliver their 3-year plan.
• Drive growth with Sales team in Strategy Account and Project Management
• Work with SBD and Technical Team for new products launch to local market
• Other tasks or duties as assigned
Skills / Experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar capacity.
• A self-motivated energetic individual contributor and team player with good problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in both written and spoken English.
• Exposure in a diverse multi-cultural workplace is an added advantage.
Education
• Degree in Engineering or equivalent
